Dear Dr. Barakat,
Thank you for joining me at the White House for the United We Stand Summit and for all that you do to stand against hate-fueled violence. We are honored to recognize you as a Uniter for the important work you have done following the tragic loss of your brother Deah and his family. Your work to honor their memory and stand up against Islamophobia has greatly benefitted our Nation.
Being a Uniter is a calling and a commitment. You remind us of the fundamental truth that it takes all of us to fight for the country we know we can be.
May we always remember who we are and what we stand for. I will never give up, and I know you won’t either. Keep the faith.
