Shaniqua Williams

Shaniqua Williams is a student in the Public Administration and Public Policy doctoral program at Auburn University. Her research interests include social justice and equity, election administration, as well as traditional and non-traditional forms of political participation amongst minorities. Her main research focus has been studying protest formation as focusing events for policy change. Prior to beginning her doctoral program, Williams received her Master of Public Administration (MPA) with a certificate in Election Administration from Auburn University. While pursuing her MPA, her studies focused on the effect of felony disenfranchisement on black voter turnout. During her time at Auburn she has been very involved with the Black Graduate and Professional Student Association, serving two terms on the executive board. Williams is originally from San Diego, California.
